ALTHOUGH THE OUTER CARVING HAS BEEN SHAVED PROBABLY IN THE 18TH CENTURY TO ACCOMMODATE THE LATER OAK FRAMES, IT DOES NOT DETRACT FROM THE MAIN TOPIC OF THE CARVING WHICH IS THE FANTASTIC HEADS CARVED IN HIGH RELIEF, IN ROUNDEL CENTRES. A FANTASTIC EXAMPLE OF HENRY VIII PERIOD CARVERS WORK.
