THIS RARE SUBJECT HOLDS THE TRADITIONAL ATTRIBUTES OF THE TAU CROSS AND THE BELL. IT IS A REMARKABLE SURVIVOR HAVING BEEN VICTIM OF THE ICONOCLASTIC VIOLENCE DURING THE REFORMATION OF THE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR. THE MINOR LOSSES ARE DUE TO INTENTIONAL DESTRUCTION DURING THE REFORMATION, THE FACIAL TYPE RELATES TO THE ST ANDREW AND ST PETER SCULPTURES RECENTLY SOLD BY US, AGAIN FROM DERBYSHIRE AND MOST PROBABLY FROM THE SAME WORKSHOP.
