a three dimensional sculpture of a noble family crest- the lion passant is atop a cap of maintenance- a heraldic device which is a velvet hat with turned up sides made of ermine, worn by nobles in ceremonial events. CIRCA 1690.
THE TAIL HAS BEEN REFIXED AT SOME STAGE.
