A 16TH CENTURY FLORENTINE SCHOOL PORTRAIT OF PIERANTONIO PEROTTI. CIRCA 1560.

This Italian school of the sixteenth century represents Pierantonio Perotti, commander of the lancers.
This person played an important role in the service of Philip II (born in 1537 in Lallaing and died on 24 May 1582 in Mons), 3rd Earl of Lalaing, Baron d′Escornaix, Lord of Waurin and Flandres, was Grand Bailiff of Hainaut .

Short-haired, wearing a goatee, Pierantonio Perotti is dressed in a white doublet embroidered with yellow thread under a brown skin waistband gray.
His left hand holds a sword, his right hand a letter bearing the inscription: All illimo Sigre / Il sigre Pietrantonio / Perotti Comandante / delle Lancie al servizio / di S.M.L. Filippo II / (...) Gennaro / Francesco Albane (...)
