A MYTHICAL BEAST WITH THE HEAD OF A MAN AND THE BODY OF A LION. THIS EARLY 17TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCULPTURE HAS A VERY LOURING EXPRESSION TO HIS FACE. RETAINING NEARLY ALL OF ITS POLYCHROME DECORATION.

A PAPER LABEL TO THE TOP OF ITS BACK BEARING THE DATE 1619.
