THIS GREAT TUDOR PERIOD CHEST HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED FROM THICK HEWN OAK PLANKS ALMOST 3" THICK, THEN BOUND IN IRON STRAPS WITH HEAVY IRON HINGES AND HASP.
ORIGINALLY PLAIN TO THE FRONT, IT HAS PROBABLY CHANGED OWNERSHIP IN THE EARLY 17TH CENTURY OR WAS GIVEN AS A MARRIAGE GIFT TO G.W AND C.W IN THE YEAR 1630.
IT HAS A GREAT PRESENCE AND CHARACTER, COLOUR AND PATINATION.
