THE ORNATE CARVED CRESTING RAIL ABOVE A TOP RAIL CARVED WITH TUDOR ROSES, KNULL CARVING TO THE SEAT RAILS AND BACK MUNTINS, OF HEAVY CONSTRUCTION WITH A WONDERFUL COLOUR AND PATINATION. OLD IRON REPAIR TO THE LEFT ARM.
PROVENANCE: A PAPER LABEL TO THE UNDER SIDE OF THE SEAT READS AS FOLLOWS- THE NATIONAL TRUST OF SCOTLAND, J DUXFIELD, KNUTSFORD, CHESHIRE, ON LOAN 1980.
