A LARGE RENAISSANCE WALNUT CARVED DOOR HEAD PANEL . CIRCA 1550.
THIS FINELY CARVED DOOR HEAD PANEL IS CENTRED BY A LEAF AND BERRY ROUNDEL WITHIN THE ROUNDEL IS A SHIELD WITH A FOREARM HOLDING A SCROLLED RIBBON WITHIN A HAT, FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY TWO MER-MEN, THE REMAINING CARVED WITH SCROLLING FOILAGE WITH HEADS AND DRAGON LIKE CARVING.
PROVENANCE- IN THE COLLECTION OF PROFESSOR D. BAINES, NOTTINGHAM UNIVERSITY.
