THIS RARE BOOKSTAND HAS FOUR FACETS TO THE TOP, EACH FACET DESIGNED TO HOLD A BOOK, ONE OF WHICH HAS A PIERCED GOTHIC ARCH STORAGE SPACE, POSSIBLY FOR QUILLS OR BOOKMARKS. IT IS RAISED ON A CENTRAL CHAMFERED COLUMN WITH FOUR CROSS STRETCHERS AND STANDS ON FOUR SPLAYED AND SHAPED LEGS. THE TAPERED TOP WITH GALLERIED SURROUND ALLOWS FOR A BOOK TO BE DISPLAYED AND READ.

STUNNING COLOUR AND PATINATION, PERIOD RESTORATIONS. VERY SOLID AND STURDY.

A RARE SURVIVOR.
