AN EARLY 16TH CENTURY RARE SCOTTISH CARVED AND POLYCHROMED PANEL. CIRCA 1520.
THE PANEL BEARING THE UNIFICATION ARMS OF JAMES IV OF SCOTLAND AND MARGARET TUDOR. CARVED WITH THE TUDOR ROSE AND THISTLE OF SCOTLAND GROWING FROM THE SAME STEM. THE THREE TUDOR ROSES BELOW, POSSIBLY THE SMALLER CENTRAL ONE REPRESENTING THE BIRTH OF JAMES V OF SCOTLAND.
RETAINING ALMOST ALL ITS ORIGINAL POLYCHROME DECORATION. NOW IN A LATER FRAME.
