A RARE HENRY VIII OAK PLANK CHEST. ENGLISH. CIRCA 1530.

THIS FINE TUDOR OAK CHEST HAS A SINGLE PIECE LID WITH A MOULDED CARVED EDGE, THE FRONT IS DEEPLY CARVED WITH TWO LOZENGES WITH A CENTRAL FLOWER AND FLANKED BY DEEP LEAF AND BUD CARVINGS. THE LOCK PLATE WITH CARVED DECORATION BELOW. THE HINGES ARE OLD PROBABLY 18TH CENTURY REPLACEMENTS.
