A RARE TUDOR OAK CHEST . ENGLISH. CIRCA 1530-70.
THIS FINE AND RARE TUDOR CHEST HAS A SINGLE BOARD TOP WITH ORIGINAL HINGES ABOVE A FRONT CARVED WITH TWO MEDALLION ROUNDELS WITH PORTRAIT CENTRES OF A MALE AND FEMALE, POSSIBLY THE ORIGINAL OWNERS. BOTH ROUNDELS CORNERED BY LEAF AND BUD CARVING, THE SIDES EXTENDING AS FEET SUPPORTS WITH GOTHIC CUT-OUT DECORATION.
